Viscolite
Viscolite utilizes a formulation of low-charge nanoparticles integrated in a surfactant solution. These nanoparticles are engineered to target metallic and other solid surfaces. Upon injection into a fluid stream, the nanoparticles migrate to these surfaces, forming a durable, low-friction protective film.
This surface modification has two primary effects:
Friction Reduction: By creating a
smooth, non-stick membrane on the internal surfaces of
pipes and tubulars, the nanoparticles significantly
reduce friction. This promotes better fluid flow and can
lead to improved hydraulic efficiency.
Viscosity Modification:The
nanoparticles function as a powerful emulsifying agent
in heavy oil systems. They work by creating stable
oil-in-water emulsions, which lowers the overall
viscosity of the fluid. Furthermore, the nanoparticles
assist in the separation of water from the oil when the
fluid is excluded from flow or agitation, enhancing the
phase separation process.
