Polymer Damaged Wells

Polymers are used throughout the oil and gas industry to modify fluid properties and enhance operational efficiency. However improper use of these polymers can lead to formation of large, insoluble aggregates which can accumulate in the pores and fractures of the reservoir rock, causing formation damage and reducing the permeability of the formation, which ultimately hinders oil and gas flow.

PolyShred is engineered to disperse and degrade polymer deposits within the formation. It is suitable for applications where excessive polymer treatment has resulted in formation blockages and subsequent production declines. Field observations have identified substantial polymer buildup obstructing plug screens, downhole pumps, and surface separators, primarily due to improper application of friction reducers (FRs) during fracturing and stimulation operations. Additionally, production wells employing polymer-based water flooding techniques for enhanced recovery have experienced complete production shutdowns. This condition can be effectively remediated using this treatment.
